Reads of February 2024

In February I continued the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas, by reading the fifth (“Empire of Storms”) and sixth (“Tower of Dawn”) novel in tandem. If you want to do the same, just search for “tandem read throne of glass” and you’ll find a list with the order you have to read the chapters in. It was quite an experience doing such a tandem read, but I don’t think I would do it again. The two books have very different plots, even though the timeline is the same (which is btw why you can read them in tandem). And so everytime I got invested into one story, I had to change books again. Both books are amazing though.

Mid-February I started the seventh novel of the series. “Kingdom of Ash” has almost a thousand pages, and I still haven’t managed to finish it yet. I guess it will the first book I’ll write about in march.

Besides these three massive chunks of bundled paper, I finished three audiobooks.

“Carrie Soto Is Back”, by Taylor Jenkins Reid was the first one. I think it was quite alright, but nothing too special. I also heard “The House in the Pines”, by Ana Reyes. This is a psychological thriller but I wasn’t really invested into the story and I “solved the mystery” quite fast and then obviously wasn’t surprised about the ending anymore. The last audiobook I listened to was the autobiography “I’m Glad My Mom Died”, by Jennette McCurdy, which I found very interesting. I was a little disturbed by the f***-up things she had to go through with her mom.
